President & CEO
Christopher Middleton is the President and CEO of GBSI, expanding the Defense contracting reach with the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps and subcontracts with the Space Force and Army. Commercial services now span several States. GBSI has an on-premise Cyber Range and commercial training Security Operations Center in downtown Pensacola.
Prior to GBSI, Chris served with Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation in the Pensacola, Florida office as a Program Advisor. INTUITIVE is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, and is an award-winning aerospace engineering and analysis firm. In the community, Chris served as a past Chair of the West Florida Defense Alliance. While serving as Defense Alliance Chair, the region was named as a Great American Defense Community, a recognition by the Association of Defense Communities. He has also served on the Florida Defense Alliance state-wide Executive Committee. As the University of West Florida’s Assistant Vice President of Defense Programs in the Office of the President he led initiatives in defense market growth, veteran talent pipeline and economic development. He is a graduate of the Leadership Florida Program.
In his Navy flying career, he operated from twelve different aircraft carriers. He served in Command of a combat deployed carrier-based squadron and also in Command of the U.S. Navy’s largest EA-18G and EA-6B squadron. The EA-18G is a variant of the F/A-18F Super Hornet. He has experiences at the Joint Staff, National Military Command Center, Joint Operations Centers in multiple theaters, service with a deployed Special Operations Task Force, time at the Naval Education and Training Command and was a Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow assigned to FedEx Express World Headquarters.
